About Dave Lamerson
I guess my passion for photography can be blamed on time to kill away from home.
As an engineer for more than 20 years in a career that has required extensive travel over the years. I needed something to kill the extra time I had on the road. I started out with a small Sony point and shoot way back. I can still remember to this day the first time I landed on the West Coast. I had a couple of days to kill before a job would start so I took a journey to Yosemite in early winter. Needless to say, I was awestruck at the beauty and scenery I discovered that trip. I don’t know if words can truly do it justice, so I took a bunch of pictures, freezing those moments forever.
Since that day I have moved into the world of DLSR and digital photography. Most of my time has been spent as a hobby just seeing what places I can capture along with chasing my children’s activities. Not too long ago I started venturing into the world of Photoshop and the power to create some very interesting images. I guess that’s why I lean towards photography and art combined.
I think through art a person can capture perspective and ideas they feel inside. Nothing is really wrong or right in art expression.
I like to think my captures create a feeling, expression, or stimulate an emotion. It has taken me long enough I guess, but I finally found the courage to expose my travels to the world for good or bad. I believe everyone should take that scary step and see what they can accomplish.
I feel fortunate to be able to chase this dream and I hope you can enjoy some of my moments.
